About Oman

OICWE 2020 > About Oman

Sultanate Of Oman

Oman is a great Nation located on the Arabian Peninsula. It has  terrain encompassing desert, riverbed oases and long coastlines on the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman. The port capital, Muscat, is  home to the massive, contemporary Sultan Qaboos Grand  Mosque, and the old waterfront Muttrah quarter, with its labyrinthine souk and busy fish market. Oman is known for its popular  tourist attractions. Wadis, deserts, beaches, and mountains are areas which make Oman unique to its neighbouring nations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Jebel Shams is Oman’s tallest mountain, highest point, and is a popular destination for camping. Other popular tourist activities include sand skiing in the desert, mountain-climbing, camel racing, and camping.
